Nanabird

Nanabird Terms of Use

Effective September 25, 2026

1. The agreement

These terms are between you, the parent or guardian, and Black Layers Corp. You must be an adult to create an account. You are responsible for how children in your family use Nanabird.

2. What Nanabird is

Nanabird is a language-learning companion. Tilo is an AI: it can make mistakes, including in words and pronunciation, and it is not a teacher, therapist or emergency service. Some languages are marked "AI-taught, not reviewed". Word lists in the other languages are checked by native speakers over time.

3. Talk-time minutes

Talk-time minutes are sold through Apple as one-time purchases (minute packs). They are not a subscription and never renew. Minutes belong to your family account, are shared by every child and device in it, and do not expire. A minute is used only while Tilo is talking with a child; reading and writing practice are free. Each child's daily limit still applies. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies; minutes from a refunded purchase are removed. Deleting your family deletes any unused minutes. We may change pack sizes or prices for future purchases, never for minutes you already bought.

4. Acceptable use

Do not try to misuse the service, extract the AI system's instructions, or use Nanabird for anyone other than your family.

5. Content

We own the app, the curriculum, the characters and the animations. You own nothing you haven't created, and your child's practice is theirs. We use it only to run the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Liability

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is", and our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the previous 12 months. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

7. Law

The laws of Ontario and Canada apply, without limiting consumer rights where you live.
